All us love to travel and know about different countries across the world. We love to know their culture, their life, their cuisine and of course the people.
But we also know that every country has its own set of rules and laws. What is fine in India might land you in troubled waters in Australia and vice-versa.
Yes! Every country has its laws which you might wanna know before visiting the country.
So, here's a list of 25 rules that you shouldn't risk overlapping in countries other than India:
Wearing high heels.
Wearing heels in some parts of Greece is illegal, especially during the historic events since the people there believe that the high heels may harm precious stones.
Eating food in public.
We all know that Muslims observe a fast during the month of Ramzan.
So, if the non-Muslims (or any Muslim) are found eating in a public place in the Arabic states during Ramzan, they might land up in jail or be fined heavily.
Crossing the road.
Yes! It is pretty casual for us to cross the road in India. But in America, it is considered a crime.
Celebrating Valentine's Day.
February 14 is considered as the day of love. While every country allows its citizens to celebrate Valentine's Day, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have banned it.
Trimming the Cactus.
The pricky plant cactus is found in the dry regions of the world and takes years to grow!
In the state of Arizona, a few plants, including Cactus, are not allowed to be chopped off. It's a punishable crime.
Eating a chewing gum.
A lot of us are used to chewing gums every day. But did you know that it is not allowed in Singapore?
Any citizen caught exporting chewing gum is fined. However, gums are available in the pharmacy for medical reasons.
Jogging.
Considered as a healthy habit across the world, jogging in groups was banned by the government ofBurundi (East Africa) in 2014.
Singing loudly.
Who doesn't enjoy random jamming sessions?
Well, no one in the state of Honolulu! Singing or playing loud music on long drives after sun down isn't allowed in Honolulu.
Using abusive language.
Getting caught in the fights and exchanging abusive words is pretty casual in our country but totally unacceptable in Australia's Kings Island, Australia and New South Whales.
Changing the bulb.
How many of us changed the fused bulb of our house ourselves? All of us! But strangely enough, in Australia's Victoria, you cannot change until your licensed electrician arrives.
You could be fined for more than Rs 500 for breaking the rule.
Wearing short dresses.
In many Muslim countries, women are asked to dress modestly. They are supposed to wear clothes which cover their arms and legs in order to avoid gathering attention.
Countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia need women to fully cover their body and wear scarf.
Drinking alcohol.
While many countries have laws related to defined age groups when it comes to drinking alcohol, Saudi Arabia has strictly banned it.
Even the tourists are strictly monitored.
Being overweight.
(Who would've thought of this rule?)
In the year 2009, Japan disapproved of people who were overweight. After the age of 40, men are supposed to have a waistline of 31 inches and women are supposed to maintain it to 35 inches.
Not a single inch more than that!
Feeding birds.
(Who else is thinking about Bollywood right now?)
Well, in Venice it is illegal to feed birds. You will be fined with more than $700 if you do that in St. Mark's Square.
Naming your pig.
(Whattttt? People in France pet pigs?)
So, you might want to think twice before naming your pig in France. Giving your pig a name which is also the name of some prestigious personality isn't allowed.
Not smiling.
Guys, you're a sulk-machine, stay away from Italy.
Not smiling in Italy is a offence, the country promotes happy-go-lucky people!
Whistling.
In Ontario's Petrolia people aren't allowed to scream, shout, sing or whistle loudly.
Pushing the car.
People in Autobahn always need to make sure that their car doesn't run out of gas or fuel!
Yes, it is illegal to stand on the highway or push the car in Germany's Autobahn.
Singing on the radio.
Did you know that the Canadian government keeps an eye on whatever is played on the local radio?
Also, the country follows a rule that every fifth song that is played should be sung by a Canadian singer.
Farting in public.
(Who else is laughing?)
Well, no wonder why people in Florida don't eat chole and rajma because the state doesn't allow its citizens to fart in public after 6 pm.
Getting heavily drunk.
Becoming a Devdas is all fun and games until you do that in the clubs of Australia.
The clubs let their customers get heavily drunk then they are eligible for a good amount of fine.
Dying!
(I'd rather suggest to never visit such places in the first place! Lol)
It is illegal to 'die' in England's House of Parliament.
Naming your baby.
In the country of Denmark, it is not allowed to name your kid as per you will. There's an official list of 7000 names. If you are not willing to choose one from that then you need to seek government's permission.
Flushing the toilet.
We all need to use the loo at any given hour but did you know that flushing late at night is not appreciated by people in Switzerland?
There's a good chance of you disturbing them.
Happy travelling, you guys!
